Sowore Accuses Obi of Secretly Backing Atiku as NDC Sets Campaign Council Inauguration

African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has accused Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate Peter Obi of secretly directing his supporters to work for African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate Atiku Abubakar.

Sowore made the allegation in a post on his Facebook page, where he questioned Obi’s political activities and his relationship with the former vice president.

The AAC candidate alleged that Obi was supporting Atiku because both politicians were opposed to what he described as his revolutionary mandate.

He further claimed that Obi was positioning himself to become Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) if Atiku eventually won a future presidential election.

“If you haven’t noticed, the packaged fraud, Mr. Peter Obi is secretly directing his supporters to work for @Atiku Abubakar because they are opposed to our revolutionary mandate. Obi is positioning himself to become Atiku’s SGF,” Sowore wrote.

However, no evidence was provided in the information available to substantiate the allegation, and Obi’s response was not included.

NDC to Inaugurate Campaign Council October 20

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Democratic Congress has announced plans to inaugurate its presidential campaign council for the 2027 general election on October 20 in Abuja.

The party’s National Chairman, Cleopas Zuwoghe, disclosed this on Saturday during a press conference in the nation’s capital.

Zuwoghe said the party had prepared the council’s organisational structure but was consulting its presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and his running mate, Rabiu Kwankwaso, to finalise appointments.

According to him, the consultations are intended to ensure that the party appoints officials whose commitment and loyalty will support its campaign objectives.

The NDC chairman added that the party was keen to avoid appointing individuals whose loyalties could undermine its preparations for the 2027 general election.
