Ogun PDP Raises Alarm Over Alleged Omission of Candidate from INEC List

The party said the circumstances surrounding the omission raised questions, particularly as other candidates of the party contesting House of Assembly, House of Representatives and senatorial seats were included in the published lists.

In a statement, the PDP said it would pursue the matter through the appropriate channels and insist that due process be followed.

The party also alleged that it had faced several challenges in its political activities, including restrictions on its campaign billboards, attacks at campaign grounds and harassment of its members.

Despite these alleged incidents, the PDP said it remained committed to peaceful political participation and democratic processes.

It maintained that no form of intimidation should deprive the people of Ogun State of the opportunity to freely choose their preferred leaders.

The party urged its members, supporters and residents of the state to remain calm, assuring them that necessary steps were being taken to resolve the matter.

It also expressed confidence that the issue would be addressed, adding that it remained committed to providing what it described as the leadership and relief the people of Ogun State deserved.

Reaffirming its political message, the party said its campaign slogan, “OGUN FOR OGUN,” represented a call for leadership rooted in the interests of the people, responsive to their needs and committed to their welfare.

The PDP stressed that its commitment to the progress of Ogun State and the right of its residents to determine their political future would remain unwavering.

The party’s allegations against the APC and the circumstances surrounding the reported omission were not independently verified in the statement. INEC’s response was not included in the information provided.
