The families of the victims have confirmed that contributions raised on their behalf have been refunded to them following the return of the victims.
Alirat, who confirmed the development, said representatives of the families returned the money and that every parent had received their contribution back.
“They returned it to those who went to represent us. Every parent has received their money back,” she said.
Meanwhile, former President Olusegun Obasanjo appealed to the public to move on from the incident, expressing gratitude to the Imo State Government for its role in securing the victims’ release.
“You know what, let’s forget the matter and just appeal to the Imo State Government. We should be grateful to them,” Obasanjo said.
