President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will officially resume duties on Tuesday, September 16, after cutting short his planned holiday abroad.
The disclosure came through Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy. In his statement, he noted, “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has concluded his work vacation ahead of schedule and will return to Abuja on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, to resume official duties.”
Tinubu had departed Nigeria for France on September 4, 2025, to spend his annual holiday and was initially scheduled to split his time between France and the United Kingdom.
While in Paris, the Nigerian leader held talks with French President Emmanuel Macron, where both leaders explored strengthening ties on global stability, investment opportunities, and regional cooperation.
This trip marked Tinubu’s seventh visit to Paris since his inauguration in May 2023. It also added to his growing list of international travels in 2025, including 15 visits across 11 nations.
The President’s 2025 diplomatic calendar has taken him to Ghana, the United Arab Emirates, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Japan, Brazil, and Saint Lucia, among others. These visits involved summits such as the African Union (AU) Summit, the BRICS Summit, and TICAD9.
Analysts believe his frequent travels reflect his determination to reposition Nigeria as a key player in global diplomacy and trade.
