Enugu NUJ Hails Governor Mbah’s Transformative Leadership at Second Anniversary

The Enugu State Chapter of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) has commended Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah for his transformative leadership, as he marks his second year in office.

In a goodwill message jointly signed by the NUJ Chairman, Comrade Agatha Agu, and Secretary, Comrade Jude Chinedu, the union described Governor Mbah’s administration as visionary and results-driven, noting its significant impact across critical sectors.

“The Nigerian Union of Journalists, Enugu State Chapter, extends its warmest congratulations to you, the Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, as you mark your second year in office,” the statement read.

The union acknowledged the governor’s “remarkable progress” in areas such as education, transportation, and general infrastructure, describing them as key indicators of purposeful governance.

Top among the achievements listed was the rollout of 260 Smart Green Schools, an initiative the NUJ described as groundbreaking.

“This transformative initiative promises to revolutionize teaching and learning, empower our young people with 21st-century skills, and position Enugu as a leader in sustainable education,” the statement noted.

The journalists also applauded the administration’s commitment to improving the state’s road infrastructure.

“Equally commendable is the comprehensive rehabilitation and expansion of our road network across the state. This will lead to faster connections that will stimulate commerce and ease access to health and social services,” they said.

In addition to education and transportation, the NUJ highlighted ongoing efforts in the upgrade of water systems and the development of key public facilities.

“Your administration’s commitment to modern infrastructure extends beyond roads. We applaud the ongoing upgrades to urban water systems and the construction of critical public facilities.”

The union concluded the message with prayers and goodwill for the governor’s continued success.

“As you celebrate this milestone, please accept our best wishes for continued success, health, and strength. May the next year bring even greater dividends for the people of Enugu.”

Governor Mbah, who assumed office on May 29, 2023, has maintained a governance style rooted in disruptive innovation and inclusive development, aimed at repositioning Enugu State as a model of progress and economic viability in Nigeria.
